Should this have these 'cracks'? The pump is not very old and I'm not sure if it's manufactured like that or if it's cracked (in 3 places)?

not familiar with this model but this dont look like casting marks and I would presume the casting should be one piece ... was it leaking? ...I would change it regardless ... all the best

Thanks Dave

I have a leak I cannot find! Checked everything 6 times and I think this is causing it. It seems it's causing a very small leak which runs under the car, down the sump. Problem is, I had a very small oil leak there two, so couldn't really tell if it was oil dripping or a mixture. I will replace with new, although the only reasonably priced ones are from ECP/CP4Less which are the same brand as this one. Genuine MB is around 4 times the price.

Anyone know of any decent manufacturers of water pumps?

OK I've just checked online and found this picture. Two of the three 'cracks' are there

Small update as I don't like to leave threads unfinished.

Water pump changed for a Febi unit. It also has casting marks but only two on one side which seems correct.

Early days but no leaks, let's see how it gets on. Fingers crossed
