All ambient / instrument lights are actuated by the same signal - 58d - and their brightness is controlled by the reset button in the instrument cluster (for a car of that period). Have you tried turning the little button clockwise (when ambient light is on)? You'll notice the instrument cluster clocks will get brighter, but the others should too, to a degree.

Do new cars come with owners manual ?.. Because it would save time if owners read them first . If this is the case .

I don’t think owners Manuals would
go into much detail regarding, items such as changing dash bulbs etc.
It’s very good for basic information
including tyre pressure, oil etc but
again many many owners change
wheel sizes etc and then the hand book becomes irrelevant.
That’s why many of us need the forum like this.

Ah, I see - I'm contemplating a massive SMD LED change for my instrument cluster, from orange to white, and yellow to white, for the central LCD display, and speedo clocks respectively, but it's not as simple as swapping bulbs in old cars, as all the LEDs are soldered in (hence SMD)...

It's even more complicated for the built-in LEDs in buttons and switches. I would say it will not be realistic to do so, unless you pay a fortune to a specialist company, to re-solder all of the tiny LEDs.

Have a look at this thread - to give an idea of the type of light sources used (the ones inside buttons are even smaller sometimes):

That Rubicon has been crossed a while ago :p

It's not actually changing "to LED" in this case, it is simply changing to the same type, but different colour LED :geek:
