Update on my latest with the dreaded battery protection error message.
I put my W211 E-class into the local Merc dealer (Inchcape, Nottm) recently to sort out the 'battery - convenience' error as it was disabling my heated rear window etc etc, a real pain with this frosty weather. As suggested in one of Television's posts on the forum, the earth lead underneath the driver's footwell carpet was loose, causing a poor connection. They re-soldered the lead and the problem has been resolved. Before, I was getting the message three or four times a day, even on short journeys but now after a week, No Error Message. I hope this helps someone else.
