W211 Parktronic sensor problem

That's a good idea as this is a very common problem that is easily solved by most people. How do you contact a moderator? I have searched but cannot find anything.

Can I just stress that two or more sensor can and has gone at the same time, as it happened to me, I went about buying one to replace one at the time,after I replace all 10 a couple of hour later with no joy, in the end took it to my garage, run it on his laptop,and he pinpointed that two sensor has gone,the two corner ones at the rear,as everyone knows, corner means where the wheels are, ask for the old one back,sure enough, I open it up,and it's very wet in the electronic,and not on the connector.the sensor cost £53+vat

I've studied Turbo Merc's very clear guide to strip removal on his W211, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to apply to my CLK280, W209. Am I correct in thinking it's a bumper off?
If so please will you send me details of how to do that?
Front CLK 280 2008 W209 Convertible.

Similar Parkronic problem from a newbie.

I too am a new owner, 1 week in, and when I engage neutral or reverse, I get a beep and all the rear sensor lights come on and stay on until I shift into drive, the rear sensors do not function, although the front ones seem to be ok. Any advice would be appreciated. Thankyou.

STAR is the only one able to read the chassis codes. It will identify the faulty sensor(s), saves a lot of guessing.

Just read somewhere that a functioning sensor " clicks ". I happen to have a stethescope somewhere, brings a whole new slant to diagnostics!. Will let you know how I get on.

It is a W211 E320 Estate (avantgarde) 2003 year model.
The sensors seem to sit into some kind of strip on the bumper.

Btw, do I need special tools?
