Can't speak for more recent cars but when I bought mine in 2010, the SE had real leather as standard and the Sport versions Artico which is Mercedes' false leather (or vinyl as we used to call it years ago). The VIN decoder will tell you what any particular car has.

Strange. Should be other way around - cheaper SE model should come with fake leather and more expensive AMG with real.

Probably helps keep the price down for the AMG versions. Anyway, may be different now, I'm talking about 7 years ago when I bought my SE E-Coupe

The only way to be sure is to look at the VIN.
