hi,
lately i've noticed an odd noise coming from my car (not sure if it's from the engine, drivetrain, or exhaust, it's hard to pinpoint), when accelerating but never when hard accelerating, so it only occurs some times, and for a few seconds and then it's gone,

for example, if i'm on the motorway and I accelerate from say 85km/h to 110, between 90 and 95km/h the noise will come, the noise sounds almost similar to that noise/vibration you hear when you drive over cobblestones, but not quite as loud, it seems to occur mostly in two places, i.e. approx somewhere between 40>70 km/h and 90>110 km/h

any body else had a similar issue or know what might be causing this ? i'm still paying off last years Turbo failure so i'm really hoping this is not another expensive problem manifesting itself...

thanks in advance for any good advice
cheers
niall

i've changed wheels and tires and the problem persists so i'm very confident it's nothing to do with them

Doing loads of engine mounts and subframe bushes on the 212s at the moment for vibrations..

Without looking at it/driving it, it is impossible to tell you.

Could be engine mounts. When they collapse an internal bolt starts knocking on another internal component. I'm told engine mounts have a service life of 100,000 miles.

To test. With the bonnet up, foot firmly on the brake, rev the engine to 2000 rpm in drive. Watch to see if the engine lifts, some movement is acceptable but not much.

See if you can post a video of it.
