Sounds like there's an air leak somewhere at the back, possible leaky airbag.

Doesn't sound normal, any dropping should be looked at, as it's just one side I'd suspect a leaky strut/bag, get it back to mb and have them sort it, just be warned they will say its normal to do this which is a load of bull

Just bought an 2011 W212 E250CDI Estate. When it sits in the garage there is often a droop to the left at the rear. Measurement from top of rear wheel arch to the floor 675 mm left hand side, 690 mm right hand side. It does vary. It has been 680/680 but not often.

Is this normal behaviour with the self levelling suspension? Or is it something I should have looked at under the MB used warranty that came with the car?

Yes get it attended to the pump will start to work overtime especially as the leak gets worse, replacement pump fitted circa £400

The rear should not sag at all even when left over night.

Issues could be air bags, rear solenoid valve behind the bumper or the air lines.
As people have said if the compressor has to run to often it may well burn its self out or even worse burn its self out and blow the fuse in the front power distribution module next to the battery which is a non serviceable part and will also cost you another couple of hundred pounds to replace.

I have put two new bags on mine which I got from Aerosus in Germany, seem really good and not to bad on cost (fairly easy DIY job with a pair of axle stands). Have also replaced the valve behind the bumper with a Merc part (£158) and all is now good with no overnight sagging.
