Well, here's something unusual. Side note first- due to its "garage queen" status I've only had the family in the car a few times, most of its driving so far has been me solo.

So- last weekend saw us in the car over to visit my folks. On opening the door for SWMBo, 'cos I'm polite like that occasionally, I heard a clicking popping metallic sound. on further closing and opening of the door, we saw that the front lower edge of the door outer skin is catching slightly on the bodyside metal where it forms the door aperture, as it swings out on the first part of the double action. Interestingly we had never noticed this before it went to have the ABC fixed, although for the life of me I can't think how it would have happened.

Sooooooo... esteemed members....... is there a way to adjust the door clearance to shift it back by a mill or so?

No one so far has asked for this, but I can print it off.

2005 CL500.
As above, never heard of this.

But on the US forums they have had experience of the door effectively locking at only about 4 inchs open in extremely cold weather.

Hmm thank you Ciaran, that's very interesting.

Malcolm, thank you, if you could. It's not really urgent but something to add to the list of jobs, I am hoping that it doesn't require the door, sunroof and diff to be removed to be adjusted, knowing this car it'll probably be a windscreen off job or something silly!

Please PM Email address. Do take note of the keep, if this is in the wrong place it can force the door up or down on the final closing.

Do not forget that all leading edges must sit 1mm proud, or you will get wind noise.

The keep is the U shaped part bolted to B pillar, if that is in the wrong place it can force the door up or down near the final close.
