IMG_1141.JPG Well the booster arrived a week ago and got held up at the post office. Picked it up today. Alex, on the last aliexpress link I provided there are no shipping issues.

Might get a chance to play with it over the weekend :)

    Fingers crossed for you Alex!

I'll update more once I've had time to make up the harnesses and give this thing a go!

Bit of progress today. BT Sap v3 cradle installed (non 3g). Been very reliable so far. Signal quality excellent.

Now to sort the lack of internet whilst the Sim is owned by the car. Either one of two options:

    1. Put an old sim card in the sap cradle, and forward calls to it whilst the car driving. Automate with Tasker. Got to figure out how to get contacts onto this old school full size sim.
    2. Get a personal wifi device and chuck a payg sim card in it for data, install it in the boot with Sw12v and use that for data.

I bought a Huawei 5577 MiFi device for use outside the UK and it is excellent. Mine is fitted with a Panorama external aerial which makes a huge improvement on internet speeds (went from 12MB/s to 60MB/s when testing back to back in the living room and had similar result almost every time tested).
Thoroughly recommend it if you go this route but DON'T use O2 PAYG data - its only usable in the UK unlike 3 or EE.
