2009. It's a round rocker switch. Don't think it's factory although it is neat. Can't think why it would be there?

DO you have the wireless headphones and remote control? Could be a related switch, perhaps so that driver isn't distracted - just guessing as I sold mine a few months ago!

Could be someone’s solution to continual battery drain for a car which has been regularly left for long periods of time unused in its past?

Mr Laidlaw might be on to something.
I have recently suffered with a flat battery after 4 days standing. Battery and alternator tested all good.

Been checking today. After 15 mins or so the 40amp fuse for hifi is still drawing .9 mV which equates to a considerable amp draw over a few days. As above if I flick the switch then I get a zero reading.
However interestingly after things have powered down even switching this back on again doesn't give a reading.....it's only after the hifi has been powered up properly by the car.

So I'm guessing its the sleep instruction from hifi that isn't activating but if it's done manually by cutting power it will stay asleep until used properly again

Don't know whether it's worth trying to sort or just leave this work around.

It's odd though that this has only started happening after xmas and after my second repair on the amplifier.
Yet the switch was already there?

Flipping easier in the old days when the only complication was automatic choke!!
