Hi all.
New to this forum & wondered if anyone can help.
I have a 2007 CL65 AMG W216 with 60,000 miles.
Recently it has started to slam into 2nd gear when pulling away.
I had the transmission fluid & filters replaced which alleviates the problem but only once the car has been driven for a good few mile & has warmed up.
Any ideas?

Get it on a Star and check it’s not the ISM module. Can cause gearbox issues. They’re about £800 to replace in case you were wondering.....

Mine does this as well, when warmed up the TC stops slamming into 2nd but it also doesn't let go of the TC 100%. Mine is worn as per the TC slip ratio shown in STAR.

I would hazard a guess that lots of the V12's wear their TC's quicker than others.

As you have changed the fluid and filters, get the TC turned off on STAR and test to see if the symptoms go away, if yes, then look at the TC side of things (converter, actuation solenoid, valve body) if they dont, check the adapation values as you may have a clutch pack or brake band worn out.

Problem solved.
Looking around on all MB forums, the most common cause seems to be the TCC solenoid.
Also the 1st 2nd shift solenoid & in some cases the conductor plate.
Replaced all 3 also new oil & filter again just to be safe.
Silky smooth transmission now.

So you changed the TCC solenoid, the 1st and 2nd shift solenoid and the conductor plate?

Good news!

Yes, changed all 3 to be sure although I think just changing the TCC solenoid would have fixed it.

I think so too. I'm sending the valve body off to be reconditioned and they will check the solenoids there too just in case.

Good luck..
I got the solenoids on eBay.
TCC solenoid was £60.

For completeness, swapped out the solenoids and conductor plate last night. Hard changes when cold has now dissapeared!

The updated PN for that solenoid is A240 277 02 89

It has also been superseded 5 times indicating that they have likely had problems with this part in the past.
