w221 2010 ICE questions

i have unsuccessfully tried to find a copy of a 2010(face lift) S class spec.
i was wondering if any one can answer:
1) was DAB standard or optional
2) is there an aux input?
3) phone bluetooth connectivity ...optional?
4) HK sound system is standard? if so, is it any good?

also, would be appreciated if any one has a link for viewing a w221 2010-2011 UK spec brochure

Hi,
DAB radio was part of the optional HK "entertainment package" (Except on the 600L where the HK was standard).
Aux input standard (part of the standard media interface) on all models.
Bluetooth standard on all models.

If it's of any use to you, I can mail you the Price List from April 2011 in pdf (which was when I starting thinking of buying one . . ).

And yes, the HK is very good - but make sure it's working . .

i have had a look at my data card and no sign of HK upgrade .
i cannot believe that DAB was an optional extra in an S-class.

everything is optional on a Merc.
DAB is a VERY rare option even on 2012 cars

It can be retrofitted... DAB tuner is something like £370, the antenna alone is £650 (and even then it doesn't work)
I thought media interface was optional, should be a rectangular plug in the glove box and multiple connection leads.
Not sure on BT music (probably not) and i don't think available as an option (but various cheap addons will connect via BT if that socket is there.
HK optional system is garbage and not really changeable - all depends on your Stds vs a Dacia 6k car its will seem brilliant

You should worry more about distronic plus, that would be hard work and "expensive" to fit

i am coming from an Audi A8 4.2 Tdi , DAB, keyless, etc as standard and never let me down in my 3 years of ownership. currently on 135K miles.
moving to S class as i just want maximum serenity.

please tell me that the facelift has standard ambient lighting!!!

keep the audi....
or LEASE a 530d with autonomous cruise, head up display and one of the better hifi options
the lease deal will save you walking home multiple times, sitting at the side of the road and buying own diagnostic scanner for the daily **** you'll get with a Mercedes

Hi,
If you wanted DAB, it was only provided as part of the entertainment package - either the HK or the Bang & Olufsen. Actually, I had the HK but asked for the DAB radio to be deleted (we have no DAB radio in France ).

When I was looking to buy I started by having a demo of the A8 - very nice car. But then I tried the S and for comfort etc, it was in a different league . .

A little bit of advice, if I may: make sure your S has comfort seats and Distronic+ (part of the Driving Assistance Package). Thes are what make the S special (IMHO).

Just noticed the Ambient Lighting Q. No, it was an option as well . . .
