Weird Rocking/Oscillation

So I'm getting a weird rocking thing happening when the car's idling and stationary. Every few seconds it feels like someone has nudged the car from the outside. Not a violent rocking; quite gentle but definitely a rocking.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Engine mounts would be my first thought

I have an excellent local mechanic (albeit not a Merc specialist). Your initial triage thoughts sound like problems that wiuldn't neccesitate a specialist?

Yes, both jobs should be straight forward for any mechanic.
