Thanks sir, sadly a bit more than a half hour drive away from me plus, the state of our roads, by the time I got home the alignment would be out again anyway.:rolleyes:
It’s side impacts that do for alignment (kerbing) not vertical (potholes).

I don't do kerbing Craig, I'm absolutely paranoid about taking care of my car but..... the pot holes in the roads up here, are a joke, and not of the funny variety.

This year alone my wife, son and I have all had to replace a tyre and suffered blowouts or punctures due to the state of what we laughingly refer to as our roads.

The local council don't seem to bother repairing anything less than six to eight inches deep.

They are completely inundated with claims and make said claimants jump through hoops with crazy conditions for what they will and will not pay out for.

It's a total waste of time.:mad: And I suspect it's done that way on purpose for that very reason. Most folk don't bother claiming.

What kind of wipe is that Andy? Perhaps it's a little to abrasive, is that only dirt or some of the pigment from the wheel you're lifting off?

I clean my steering wheel with a damp chamois approx twice a week and don't lift anything like that sort of dirt. Plus you can "feel" that it's clean.

I use those anti-sceptic baby type wipes. Same as you would use if you dropped something on the carpet for instance. Thrown in the bin and not flushed down the loo of course

My Mum used to say "what goes around, comes around" to which I'd reply "unfortunately I won't be there to see it though".

Personally I think anyone who does this should be shot .....repeatedly.....ankles.....kneecaps.....elbows and hands. It's the catching the bar stewards that's the hard part though.

Sadly most of the incidents I have heard of, they do seem to get away with it! :(

Took it to Kwik Fit for a hunter alignment.
Mistake.
They did the alignment and I glanced at the paperwork and noticed the settings used were for an r230. Pointed out that was the next generation SL from mine..
They put it back on the machine and I was asked if I'd watch over the technicians shoulder as he did it. I ended up telling him to do it as he hadn't realised the 129 is fully adjustable as standard.
At least I know everything is aligned right (and it was nice being able to point at stuff and not get my hands dirty!)

I am Lucky we have WIM near us, recommended (off the record) by my top main dealer mechanic. WIMs top guy explained how he would get rif of the slight MB inclination to pull to the kerb.
I felt like he was setting up an and F1 car.
Car drove like magic and subsequent tyre wear is mm even!

Not cheap but not expensive ... great outfit! And a whole lot cheaper than a main dealer. They had to put in those adjustable cam bolts, as the std ones have no adjustment ??

Just completed my “naughty school” ... interestingly they banged on about “vital road conditions” ( meaning ice, rain, damp, leaves horse dung etc.
Couldnt resist asking why the Government didnt give a toss about the actual road surface?
Paying over £560 ? Road tax, and a horrible Poll Tax .. imo they have more than enough money to resurface these roads ... last time they did our main access road must be > 16 years ago. Full of patched potholes and the surface has totally gone!
Its like being in Nigeria!

When I had an alignment done at Tyres Northampton three years ago, I had to point out that, they should select Sports suspension, not standard from the list (or at least ask the owner, or check by VIN) ... Now I just go to Tony @ WiM, not exactly next door, but well worth it, for the peace of mind and excellent service.

Thats the place in Chesham Bucks :):)

About to take the car in for Service and caught next doors bl***y cat pi**ing up the front. Cat pee on the oil cooler, big fluffy cat aka grey version of Garfield, wife and daughter going "oh look isn't he cute" so I wasn't allowed to introduce it to my foot!

I have the same problem with next door's cat, keeps 'spraying' up the front bumper. Just have to keep flushing it with the watering can. Trouble is I love cats !

Normally I'd use WIM but I'm under time pressure to get the car sorted this week and having to deal with accident damage hasn't helped!
WIM would be my first chioce every time.

Bedford Borough Council in 2014-5 made an actual newspaper statement that they had decided it would be a better use of cash resources to put their road repair budget into insurance premiums to pay out against car repair claims from motorists.

As much as I like cats, I love my car more. I’m afraid the cat would have met with a high speed, boot - rump interface, regardless, as punishment for daring to “mark” my car.

Loan car a 2013 A180 in white, think I will stick with the SL nearly wrecked the car twice by putting my foot down for gap in traffic and nothing happening, seems a lot of delay. Tried sports but it just screams and does not go anywhere! Not impressed by the Etch a Sketch mounted on the dash.

A red warning light with a picture of a car came on twice then went off, not sure what that was all about. Love the brakes they work really well..

Refitted my nicely refinished Brabus wheels (one was discovered to be dinged when I had the tyres done recently so I thought, well, you know...). 'Black chrome' done by Rimtech in Inverness. Blingy without being over the top. Now if only the bodywork was as nice!

Also did the pollen filter. Didn't look like it had been changed during the life of the car:rolleyes: Fan now quite a bit quieter.

They look like the same wheels my 129 has on (except mine are 19s).
They look good after your refurb!
