Just ordered two new tyres to match with the new back ones, should be fitted Tues/Weds next week.

Plus got the new French plates on her, so now she looks really proper - a Continental Tourer !!

Will you be back home for your forthcoming birthday?

Mercedes SL500 R231
I thought I'd switched my tracker off...
Not entirely sure where I'll be spending my milestone birthday as yet, on the outside of some very decent Whisky/Whiskey is my plan

wheres you proof of this guys ?
A while back I posted the analysis of tests done on K&N filters vs paper, for a car we were building in my old job. Have a look for it; the results were that there was no overall performance improvement across the board, and dependent on engine speed & car speed, either paper or K&N filter might show a 2-3% performance improvement over the other. Overall across the speed range, the tests tended to favour paper OEM filters for performance.

Not fraudsters but very very clever marketing and feeding just the right amount of positive information to make you buy

so all these performance filter manufacturers are fraudsters Craig ?
Nope. It’s not fraud as their claim is along the lines of “9/10 customers agree”. Read the small print, it’s the same sort of claim that so-called anti-aging beauty treatments make... 17 out of 31 women questioned etc.

It falls under the 'marketing' aka bullsh1t. Bit like in the days before gender equality where they sent the bird in with the short skirt, blouse unbuttoned sufficient to show cleavage, carrying a pirelli girlie calendar to sell you parts ;)

Spent an hour this morning changing the lower ball joint on the w211, old one came out nice and easy and the new went in just as easily.

Let the 230 sit in traffic chatting to all the other cars on the M6 between Birmingham and the M56, took it see an E63 and used it to remind Mr Laidlaw why he really needs an ABC equipped car in his life before driving it home via a few Welsh roads (anything to avoid all those other cars on the M6 - the 230 said that while they were all nice enough they just weren't in the same class).

Was great to meet up with you John - finally can put a face to the name!

Don't laugh but..... I changed the air filters with K & N ones, (that's not the funny part..) but the utter novice that I am, I over tightened a bolt and of course it snapped. I was over stimulated from using my new tools that got delivered today, Not sure how to go about getting the old one out as ofcourse it just turns round and round. Classic beginners mistake..
