Used to have a C63...
I think you need some more gadgetry in there Alex... It's looking a bit spartan inside!

Hehe! I normally hate stick on stuff, but to integrate DAB into the head unit is approximately £550 and the pure gives I pod control... No brainer!

How does it connect to the stereo, it is FM modulator or plugged in?

Plugged in. Part of the job was pulling the comand system out to install the Aux in cable.

This is the problem, I could use the plug in the glovebox but then I loose the iPod

2005 CL500.
Average speed - 54mph
Time - 1hr 11min
MPG - 26.2

Most of it was motorway and on Cruise Control.

We have the same engine, my car is heavier and I was travelling faster, yours looks a bit low?

It does fm modulation too. If I was using it for just DAB I would use that, lots of DAB broadcast is at a lower quality than FM

Quite possible. Still getting used to it, which is part of the reason I put the figures up.

Seems to be running well so I wonder what could cause the mpg to be lower?

I may invest in one, only need it for DAB

So do I on a daily basis...but it would be a nightmare on an extended run.

Extended I manage about 22/24 but then I'm not trying really , if I put it in 'C' ( whatever that is) and travelled at an economic pace then I might stretch 30 I think ...if I could be bothered I'd try.
I drive the A6 in a more economical way but then again it bores the pants off me

Had to go out this morning so thought I'd try again:

Ave speed - 62mph
Time - 17mins
MPG - 31.2 mpg

This was all motorway as I reset it on the approach and stopped as I got off the motorway. Not nearly as much fun but good to know that it can be done when needed.

Changed the coolant, flushed the system twice and refilled the system with a 50:50 coolant mix.
Sprayed Ardrox 3698 on all the pipework, bracketry and everything else I could whilst the front under tray was off (think a sticky WD40 that they use in the aerospace industry).
Then I gave the old girl (13 this year) a good wash! After the brakeline nightmare over Christmas I was thinking of changing her, but then you wash her and then think sod that :D

I'll see all your paltry circa 30mpg figures. And I'll raise you all. :p

Mix of town & motorway. Or to be precise 24miles of it was in 30mph limits. I reckon I would have been around the 52mpg mark had I not got stuck in a load of traffic coming out of Hull and also back in to Catterick.

Do they really top out at 149? Thought they'd tickle the 155 on a fair day.

I honestly don't know as never tried. It probably would with a gentle downward slope/wind behind.

They're not exactly light or aerodynamic.

But I do have uber quiet roofbars fitted. They should be good for an extra 10mph.....each! :p
