just a light clean for the big fella this morning , ready for a good valet as soon as weather allows
Boot lid struts arrived - new ones installed. First time I've done anything 'technical' to the SL so quite pleased with myself.
Read the advice posts first and propped up the boot lid - glad I did as it drops as soon as you remove one side.
Probably spent longer getting into the package and then testing it all than actually removing the old ones and installing the new ones!
Goes up and stays up now!
Took mine to the local Indy to repair the passenger door window that won't close all the way up! It was icy one morning last week and I didn't de-ice the window properly before opening the door. One crunching noise later and he thinks my controller is kaput!
Cleaned and protected the hood, fitted a door control unit, picked up a new key and washed her
Got the winter wobblers on it today.
Get your shorts & t-shirts out team!!!
Properly reinstalled & secured the Bose amp and CD player in the cradle, refitted boot lining and topped up the spare fuses in the toolkit.
(Hadn't finished due to having injection in left elbow for tennis elbow on Friday - and it's been pretty useless until today!)
Broke it already
Looks like this is top priority
There's a small bracket on the rear of the handle spindle that breaks, cheap and a easy fix once door trim is off.......
Will I need the part first to fix it or can it be modify with anything?
You will need the part, it's cheap as chips, less than a tenner from MB.....
Thanks Cole, I'll be able to order that along with the glove box catch tomorrow.
Washed it by hand, flooded heaps of water over the rear screen and boot area and no sign of water getting in......Relief
Got it dirty.
Although feeling a bit smug as it is now actually snowing!
She's a beauty. Love the wheels...but I would.
When I viewed the car it was raining, when we collected it is was a miserable wet murky day so I never got a real good look at the body paint. After hand washing it (with shampoo) I am very pleased to say there is not a mark on the paint, only one wheel arch with about 2" strip of flacking paint. I am afraid this will be dealt with before the SL500's wheel arches
She is indeed a beauty! Looks lovely and clean and gleaming.
Good news about the boot seals too.
Had new back and bum warmers fitted, also took the carpets out and gave them a shampoo / clean
That sounds good, new back and bum warmers, we noticed last night that, only the back warmer is working on my car and the drivers seat doesn't seem to work at all, is it a DIY job?
Drove it in the snow, that was fun!!
