However, I'm sadly not in a position to really justify running the wee Beasty much longer, and it's just had its 6th birthday so realistically I can expect some hefty bills before long.

I'd dearly love to keep it as a weekend warrior (or just get a C63S), but can't justify that either!

I've had 3 good years with a great AMG, so ought to just accept that and look forward to what comes next.

But it is a tough gig to follow!

The Focus is really annoying me - it's like that little voice on your shoulder on a night out in your youth... "Go on... you know you want to... it'll be fine!" Wouldn't normally ever be on my radar, neither of its predecessors were, but... there it sits...

Guy at work has a S3 saloon and rather rates it, if you can hold off for the end of the year his will be going back to the dealers as the pcp will be up, he's just ordered an SQ3 as a replacement

Drove it - not remarkable in itself but the first time I have been behind the wheel in eight weeks since I fell off that ladder so it felt good. I had two weeks in hospital followed by six weeks at home in a body brace but can now dispense with that.

Still silly money, even for pre-facelift ones. And I've heard ride quality is poor without the adjustable dampers.

I blow hot & cold with the CLA (very colour dependant I think).

A45 - seems to get mixed reviews.

GLA45 - chap down the road had one with aerokit which looked quite good.

Trouble is, I've heard from a couple of people better placed than me, that interior quality isn't great.

Yep heard that too re the adjustable dampers, although the facelift was meant to be much much better. Wouldn't say the interior quality was bad or poor but I guess it's not as nice as the C class and up, then again I guess that's down to them being entry level AMG's rather than the proper one

The interior quality isn't as good on an A class as you'd expect from a C or E class. Those cars are definitely top of C segment premium hatchbacks and not D/E segment.
