I find a fluffy yellow cloth works well, gets washed with the rest of my microfiber cloths but spreads the megs gel nicely

The applicator is brilliant because it easily gets in all the nooks and crannies between letters etc and there is no waste as any excess just sits in the case and you use it the next time. Also you don't get any on your hands

I paid £5 for mine

I use shoe polish at the moment because it leaves a nice matt finish. Is Mecguiars similar or does it leave that glossy slick finish ?

I would call it a soft sheen, it is the best tyre dressing I have used and no mess

I have been using Turtle wax bumper & tyre gel for a few years now. Use the small kitchen foams as an applicator. Leave it on and it gives a glossy finish but I like to wipe it off which gives a mat finish. Think the Maguire's applicator is ideal tho'.

Finished painting all the derusted suspension boltheads and nuts.
Looks a lot better silver than spotted surface rust and a couple of rusty ones.
Boring job, but the last nasty job on her. :)

No longer own a Mercedes Benz
Collected if from its MOT...another 12 month ticket with two small advisories for slight play in front wheel bearings. I'm chuffed with that to be fair as the car has been excellent over the last year (16k miles)

Fitted new rotors to distributors on 129. Unsiezed tie rod end on 129. Swapped from 17s back to 19s on 129 (tyres were shot whereas ones on 19s weren't but they are pretty horrible and noisy - need to wear them out).

Annoying noisy door check straps on R129.... Removed door check mechanism. removed all grease and lubricant. refitted mechanism and door panels. No noise or squeaks. Hence do not lubricate.....crazy but true.

Driven the E Class this morning.

Just because really. I've not had a chance to use it properly yet (less than 700 miles in nearly 4 weeks) due to being busy with other things but I had a couple of hours to spare so did a 40 mile round trip to put some fuel in it.

It's quick.
4WD does help with traction.
It corners well.

More observations in another thread eventually so as not to clog this one. :)
