Premium 98 is 35 eurocents per litre less in Lux than Germany

Got 'The Bus' back again. A friend had it on long term loan as her Toyota Rav4 was in getting a new head gasket. The Rav has done only 70k miles but has now had two bouts of major engine work - the first was at 55k when it had turbo, pistons and rings and then this one with a blown headgasket, head skimmed and loads of other parts as well. Toyota wouldn't give any good will (its a March 2012 so outside the 5 year/100k miles warranty) but the dealer did do parts half price. Still came to £2900.... Frankly I'm a bit disgusted Toyota didn't do more.

Also took the Smart (its sort of a Mercedes) to France to hibernate in the barn over the winter.

But but I thought only MB cars and dealers are unreliable bits of rubbish and don’t do anything for customer retention.....

Thank you for the kind offer! Right now we’re good, Das Wagen has been supplemented with parents’ Das (Volks)Wagen so we have done loads. The crunch point will come at the weekend so if I’m stuck may I ask for your help closer to that time?

No problem. I don't think we're doing much other than picking up furniture from High Wycombe perhaps (but I'll try and sort that Tuesday or Thursday night).

Fitted a new (second hand) grill to the 190.

It was bugging me that whatever I did with the old one adjustment wise it never sat down properly on the edges, staying around 8 - 10mm away from the bonnet edge. I was about to start bashing it about when it was suggested to me that it could be a pattern part and to try another one. These are not cheap now as they're becoming scarcer though I got one at a reasonable price, fitted it and it's spot on.

The only bad bit was re-fitting the MB star as the outer shell to it was damaged, so I had to strip it and bend it back into shape. Never again.
I'll buy a new one sooner than go through that again...
