Apologised to the TPMS that kept telling me to check my tyres! Checked several times and couldn't see anything wrong and they didn't look in the least bit deflated. However looked again today (after a lot of swearing at stupid modern technology) and low and behold, there is a screw stuck solidly in the centre of one of my rear tyres (and a 7lb pressure loss). So felt the need to apologise

I'm currently alternating between cleaning these up, along with all the suspension in the area, and trying to grind the inner arches back to clean metal. Without an angle grinder as my mate has mine and he's disappeared off the face of the earth.

Ordered new 275/35/19 F1 Assy 2 as the one with a screw in it, turned out to have 3 screws in it! Therefore not repairable Currently sporting a lovely looking "space saver".

Maybe they need to do another one on your cats doing wheelies in the SL whilst you're not around!

Thanks. Yes, it was quite sad indeed.
The new owner says he will keep it forever and has been looking for one for ages, so that eases the pain. I get the impression that he is financially sound enough to be able to pamper the SL.
Crazy how we get emotionally attached to cars isn't it? Well, the good ones anyway! Ha ha!
