Just done a quick oil change on the E class , using my Pela pump . I used a little oil flush first (I know , I know ) . Topped it off with 8.5L of my 229.51 from my 20L bargain bucket along with a small bit of snake oil (I know, I know ) . New MB filter and a reset of the service countdown thingy and it was off to the tip with the old oil (the road drain was blocked outside the house  ) .
A pleasant job on a sunny day .

How are you decanting the oil from the 20L container?

I have been considering a barrel pump ???

I have a small step platform , I put the container on that for a bit of height , I also bourght a couple of cheap 2L plastic jugs . I just tip the 20L container forward on its front edge and it pours easily into the large jug .

Tested the speaker wires and speakers ( mid range and tweeters ) in anticipation I get my repaired ( ever the optimist ) amplifier back. :-/

All good on the wiring and superficial voice coil tests :):)

Made a great contact for Amplifier repairs ... seriously savvy guy, “Sound and Vision Edinburgh
sadly he only does Bose Amps ... says he is too busy doing these to take on HK, currently 100 per month !
Was given great references buy another clued up audiophile
but might be useful for others.

Worryingly he said the only good place he knew for HK amps were the New Jersey mob I had found before
( sadly shipping and duty and compound VAT makes them too pricey imo .. might as well buy new.)

MOT passed and they didn't charge me for sorting out the horn. They disconnected it, reconnected it, sorted. It sounds a bit like the eternal solution for computer problems - turn it off and turn it on again.

All's well that ends well.

Took my W124 cab for its second run of the year.
9 degrees Celsius, a bit too cold to drop the roof but covered a 40 mile run in warm comfort. Tomorrow I am booking the car in for a detail in Weston Super Mare to include a good clean underneath to rid the car of whatever salt I picked up today.

Just changed both air filters on my E320cdi om642 engine , and the pollen filter as well , took just over an hour . The previous filters were about 10k miles old but still fairly full of general muck . For the cost I'm going to try and change them yearly . I sprayed both Mafs with cleaner whilst I had the y piece thingy off the car .

Gave her yet another top up charge with the CTEK. A weekly or biweekly chore! :(:(:(

Found after 3 days inactivity the Voltage had dropped from the usual 12.6V to 12.4V

Once all the modules had shut down it was at 12.5V.
10 hours charging and she back at 13.1V.

Pretty convinced this battery is a duff one too. After getting the completly defective one in February 2017.

The 8 year old battery, pretty much stayed at 12.7 V.

Current drain on the car ranges from 30 mA, to 0 mA, with the odd spike for a few mins at 40mA ... so within the 60mA spec.

Odd coincidence
The old 95 Ah battery stayed at 12.8 to 12.7V.
The new 92 AH latest part replacement seems to be resting at 12.5V to 12.2V

3 days = 72 hours x 40 mA = 2.88 AH.
Makes you wonder if it was still a 95 AH battery, would it be at 12.7 to 12.8V after 3 days inactivity;)

Had the ATF changed at Stevensons Indy at Larkfield (Kent) very good service, unfortunately (for me) they found the cause of my slow puncture, a nail in my rear tyre which is only a few months old and its outside the repair zone..

you need to get it drop tested pal , the volts wont tell you wether the battery is actually healthy , ive just put a new bosch one on the 216 , the old one read a steady 12.5v but only 460amp ! So was buggered
