Hows your buddy in the Polo doing ? Assuming this is the same trip ?
Well remembered Wighty yes same trip doing well! He has a 1.6 diesel it really moves for a small engine. Followed him and he hit triple figures at one stage, was worried about my licence!

I would have been worried about his sanity, 3 figures in a Polo

Cleaned and polished the SL this morning, the paintwork feels a little rough so i think i will need to get the clay bar/mitt out. Polishes up very nicely though.

Cleaned it off late this morning, ready for my annual trip to Bury St Edmunds (Cars on the Green) tomorrow. Typically the heavens then opened with torrential rain which covered every panel even though it's under a car port.

I've now dried it off but that's as far as I'm going with it until I arrive tomorrow. I'm now chilling out watching the cricket, ready for a four hour drive starting at around 05.00. :(
I'm planning on being at Cars on the Green tomorrow too. Not sure if i will be in the SL or the Audi.

Especially as he later started nodding at the wheel, I could see him crossing the white lines and suggested to SWMBO he must be tired and to call his other half to check but before she could he pulled over and his wife took over the driving.

It shows how easily the SL handles the mileage, I felt fresh as a daisy when I arrived and apart from 2 hours before breakfast the rest of the drive was mine!

Not me but LostKiwi and not my car but my mate’s W221. Big thanks to Alastair for giving his time so generously, and diagnosing some rather fiddly issues. Scholar and a gentleman sir! Owe you a pint or three!

Just thrown a case in the back of it, and a flask of hot sweet tea in the front.

It's too early for this sort of thing, especially on a Sunday. Now off to clear some cobwebs out on a 220 mile run. :)
Enjoy mate. I could think of worse places to be sat in for 220 miles! Feel free to post up some pics. :)

Fitted 4 wheel speed sensors to the 221. Blasted Febi aftermarkets were junk and don't report any speed at all now. 2 X MB sensors on their way and car immobilised for now.

VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone
Sonax BSD is much easier to use

I keep seeing the guys on here talking about this stuff but I've never used it before, I've stuck with Autoglym Super Resin Polish for the last ...oh, must be twenty years, easily... i've always been happy with how it goes on easily, lifts tar spots, erases light scratches and generally buffs up to a great shine.

However, I'm always open to new ideas and products so, is the Sonax BSD any better?

Anyone?

Sonax isn't a polish, it's one of many top coat/sealants. More suited to frequent applications
But I do use it after cleaning the car to bring out the shine from the previous polish/wax.
Is the "Autoglym Super Resin Polish" a wax/top coat?
Some of the detailers will be around soon.
