It's trying to be a C Class Coupe.

For me, it's beautiful from some angles, awful from others and in general, just too cramped-looking to be comfy.
The appeal for me was that it was an AMG that could be in my price range, the wife won't mind not taking a holiday for a few years!

Isn't the CLA just an A class saloon? Not the best looking Mercedes IMO.

I think it has the same engine setup. Maybe that is why I don't see many around, possibly not that popular? Saying that I've never seen a E63 5.5 V8, or a C63s, E63s. Must be where I live?

It is a small CLS on an A class chassis

The new gen A Class also has a saloon version because Audi sell so many A3 Saloons

Except for the fact that they have just introduced an 'A' Class saloon

Tricky one, it's more a fastback than a saloon though, compare it to a CLS (which its tag is supposed to recall). Now, the CLS is an E Class platform. The E Class Coupe sits on the C Class platform. So the CLA, being a nominal C Class Coupe, would sit on the A Class platform....... all makes sense, nein?

C Class should be fine for anyone unless you really need the space. A cheaper model line up which means you will have more budget left over to spend on extra toys. :)

I guess the issue is do you prefer the exterior design of the E class over the C class. Personally i prefer the E class.

I'd be happy with either of them but I don't get any car with 4 full size seats and only 2 doors.
I'd rather pay for the extra doors ;)

I don't mind the CLA Shooting brake though, that has a decent look about it (to me)

One thing I’ll say, you’ll never want to go smaller than an E once you’ve used one...
