Yes but they are a bit narrow as the W212 has much larger tyres

That was worth doing wasn't it. Your air leak will be gone too now that the tyre has a smooth surface to make a seal :)

+1 that looks like a gret job they did, a new set of caps for £10 off the bay of E will finish them nicely

Wow looks great. Get a coat of wax on them to stop the road salt. Or something like Poorboys wheel sealant.

Thanks for the comments.

Yes I was surprised by how good they look. I asked for the minimum work necessary to stop the air leaks.

I was offered new caps at £15 per by them.

Will look into waxing them them. This and body work is a very good business to be in. The place was heaving with cars and work.

This was the first place I've been to since owing cars that used a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts.

The loan wheels are quiet good. Car is driving much better (could be placebo). View attachment 39056

Even though Firestone aren't the best they're probably a damn sight better than the tyres you had on yours so if the leaks are gone but the car isn't driving as well with all due respect it may be down to the tyres you have on if you refitted those things in your first pic?

your wheels look first class, I would be very happy with a result like that.

The tyres haven't been changed from the first pictures. I had to replace all four to pass the MOT and on a tight budget these were the most affordable.

I used to fit better quality used ones when needed, but these new didn't cost much more.On my previous Saab cars I always fitted Michelin which were really long lasting and durable. But budget and current usage I can't justify spending that sort of money the more expensive Benz versions.

I guess it depends on how much you value yours and your passengers lives, the biggest influence on you staying alive in a car are the tyres and brakes. I have to run my SL on a budget, if I didn't I would have a nice new one, but I would never put budget tyres on it. Not only will your car not drive as well it will cost you more in petrol and somebodys, perhaps not yours, life may depend upon it.
I'll bore you with a quick but true story, a cyclist was knocked down and killed near where I live, not only was the car driver not paying as much attention as perhaps he should have but when he slammed on his brakes instead of stopping in time, as he should have been able to, the braking effort literally tore the tread blocks off the carcasses of his budget tyres and the rest was history.

Be careful with the pennies but you don't have to buy premium tyres, even mid range tyres such as Kumhos , Falkens or Vredestein are perfectly adequate and still safe. Centre caps aside though the wheels look great and should at least seal the air in better now you have a good bead for the tyres to sit on. :)
