My W210 E55 AMG was "Field Marshal von Krackenfarten" (from Allo Allo).

My W211 E55 AMG was "Helga" (again from Allo Allo).

My current C63 AMG is "Sabine" (after the lovely Sabine Schmitz).

I think the next one will be "Norbert" (after Norbert Haug), although we'll see how I feel at the time......!

Enough of this Namby Pamby nonsense. One simply tells one's chauffeur to bring "the car " round to the front door. If it's the memsahib she might ask for "the Rolls with chintz curtains" as women like that sort of thing. I might at a push ask for the" 'brake " if I'm off hunting a brace of peasants [sorry pheasants] but after the Martel wire guided missile misunderstanding I've been temporarily banned from the local Sporting Gun Club.

My car is simply known as Billy, as in Billy Benz. My mate's W124 diesel is so slow, but wafts everywhere reliably and comfortably I named it the Luftenwufftenwagen!

First car was a Holden Commodore with the rego KFN.... local vicar named it King Farouk's Nephew. The name stuck.

My V6 Calibra is Cally

The 230E is Sally and the W140 is Izzy.... named after two of my late kitties. (sad eh?)

Crew at work call the W140 The Tank.
One lady called it "oh my f**king god" and another called it "****** hell".

UPDATE..

I was visiting my foster sister, and her parents were around... I had parked the W140 behind their car.... and they needed to go shopping...

Dad sticks his head around the corner and says in a broad yorkshire accent.....
"Eeeeup lad, can yer shift yer Berlin Taxi?"

Berlin taxi.... now the name has stuck, whenever I go around. Everyone calls the W140 The Berlin Taxi....

Each to their own of course, but I think giving names to cars is a bit sad. Just my opinion.

I had an Austin Montego 2.0 ltr diesel (seriously I did ) it was nicknamed Pheonix by others .

Having driven over thirty miles with a blown head gasket overheating to the point of being white hot when stopping .one new gasket later ,no skim or any other attention the engine ran like a dream for months .

A while later I went to a breakdown and ended up towing a Ford Cargo 7.5 T with it which was laden with wooden tables for @ 4 miles ! mostly uphill .it was then renamed "Jesus Christ" after the Porsche driving owner of the lorry remarked when we arrived back at Garage.

There were a few swear words thrown about as well but not suitable for a car :)

Mine got branded with Thumper, because on rapid pull away there would be a thumping felt from the rear of the car. Turned out to be the centre prop shaft mount. The name stuck though after it was fixed.

I once owned a Citroen DS21 The same as the Mentalist on TV Drives, never had a problem with it and the suspension was superb like floating on Air, I liked it being ex Navy but my Missus used to complain that the Suspension made her feel like she was being Sea Sick.
So She had to go ( The Car not the Missus, although I had to think about it :rolleyes::rolleyes: )
If you ever have the chance to drive a DS21, give it a go.

I had a DS and an ID plus 8 CX safaris, I loved them, just so comfortable and easy to work on.
