5 inches cracked after a stone hit while driving down. I thought before I call up my insurance, is there a particular windscreen brand / make I should request for? Or just a standard replacement?

Thanks in advance

You'll probably find you'll be stuck with whoever your insurance company recommends. You could ask for it to to be done at your local Mercedes dealer so that the rain sensor and daylight sensor (if fitted) can be correctly calibrated.

Just called up autoglass.
Two options
1. to get the standard glass which comes from the same factory as Merc
2. to get the glass from mercedes which has the engraved logo on it

however option #2, they will let me know tomorrow after checking with admiral whether they are happy to cover the extra cost for it.

Apart from the resell value, does it really matter too much with the "logo"?
I presume it's true that the quality are the same for both options.

Also apparently my car (based on the chasis number) doesn't need calibration for the windscreen wipers.
C250 2013 model.

Don’t think it matters a jot personally

I've had AA Windscreens twice and more recently Autoglass replace the windscreen on my S204, lots of questions when booking to make sure they got the correct screen (I have auto wipers and possibly lights although I keep dips on full time), not had any problem yet (touches wood rapidly!!).

I pretty much view windscreens as consumables. Hardly any car gets through its life without it being replaced for chips, cracks, scratches or mico-pitting. I just use whoever the insurance company gets .
