Windscreen wiper fault

Hi when I pulse my windscreen wiper to move once it just keeps going for a few minutes before stopping also when I switch it to intermittent they go continuously even when I turn them off !
It's a C180 W202 S reg 1998 has anyone got any ideas how to cure the problem please

It could also be a sticking wiper motor relay.

Pictures have gone but this thread has some good maintenance information. The single wiper does require maintenance to keep running correctly.

Park switch is built into the motor, and is not a serviceable part. From Mercedes the motor is a lot of money. Eurocarparts do one for a very reasonable price, but expect to buy three before you get one that actually works properly. Most of them jump over the park position, albeit with a slight hesitation, one time in three. I may have lost my temper over these a few times... :)

Buy a second hand 210 assembly, it bolts straight on (you need to swap the actual arm over, 1 Allen bolt, due to different length) but for some reason the 210 assembly's are much tougher than the 202 ones, therefore cheaper too as there is less demand
