Wiper overrun 2005 W211

Nearside wiper has recently started to overrun & hit/mount the scuttle during sustained rain.

Is this just a reset as Craig advised " Unscrew the nut holding the arm on, remove the arm, cycle the wiper blades once, turn engine off then refit the wiper blade in the horizontal position. Dead easy." ???

That does not work.
The mechanism is not straightforward. It is in the form of a trapezium.

Has anyone had this problem & cured it ???
