Then I used a plastic trim tool (Snap-On, cheap chinese ones distort and break) and gently pryed the door panel loose.

Saw that 3 of the door panels clip holders had come loose and so were causing a rattle, and that the waterproof membrane wasn't present probably from previous work. I fixed the door clip holders using Loctite Superglue and Evostick Serious Glue as I've had good experience with it before in terms of waterproof, temperature proof and vibration proof abilities.

I used my dog's empty Bakers Complete 15kg kibble bag as a membrane because it's made of thick plastic so it won't make any noise. I cut it in the middle, top and bottom, laid it out and then cleaned it thoroughly. I put the door panel on top of it then cut around it, laid it against the door itself inside and used the previous membrane's adhesive spots as reference and cut to size as necessary.

I used 3M bodywork double sided tape to stick the membrane to the door, and then carefully attached the door panel back to the door having heated up the metal around the door first and the clips themselves.

Result? No rattles or rustles, and no waft of cold air coming through the door panel towards the driver's side.
Good job. Nothing annoys me more than rattles.

Washed the car then touched up the cracked rear bumper (I had a bad day Monday) with a touch up pen as a make do until Spring and the warmer weather. Turned the stability off and did a huge wheelspin out of a junction and felt better watching the yellow triangle go beserk (sod you yellow triangle I had Capri and and a Monza back in the 80's!!) , lifted spirits, all well again..wheelspin cures everything!

A round trip of 191 miles to Heathrow and back. The car is filthy!
