hi im now the proud owner of a ml w164, but have a question....

the lumber support has 4-way adjustment, i move the setting to my liking and when i turn the ignition off it returns to an undesirable setting....i have no memory setting for the electric seats. i dont know if this is normal?
Paul.

I do not know much about these seats, does it go straight down when you turn off, or over a period of time. they normally hold up for some time. is it a wheel adjustment or buttons

the setting i move it to is a "deflated" position, but when i re start the car it re-flates them.

I under stand now the problem, this can only mean a faulty switch bank I think, there is nothing else to it.

I will look later to see how this switch works

If you feel that you would never use this function then just pull the fuse for the PSE pump as it does nothing else on the car

could do however, the switches (control) buttons are working fine, is there something that makes the desired position remember the setting?
or....am i setting them wrong?
Paul.

Try it with all of the buttons up, that is nothing pressed at all.

Paul.

But does it say anything about setting the memory for the lumber support? You could then set it to your preference and store it?

On this car there is no more than the selector buttons and the pump that I can see , exactly the same as on my CL420, I am sure the seat only responds to the position of the buttons.

i think there maybe a miss-understanding

the movement of the lumber is working fine, when i open and get in the car the lumber position starts to move (outwards into my back) i then move this back away from my back and carry on driving.

when i come back to the car after doing whatever the lumber starts to move back to the original position (into my back)

there is no memory store buttons only movement buttons.

its like it know what position to goto but i cannot tell it to remember "my postion"

if that sort of makes sense?

thanks
Paul.

Is there something in the cluster menus to control the default setting?

This system is not electronic at all from what I can see on the WIS AR91.25-p-1760gz

WIS would detail the normal mode of operation.
