Mercedes dont make them ;) The original is probably SACHS. Find the price from dealer and compare to ebay, GSF, ECP etc with discount.

Very true but at least you would be getting a shocker correctly spec'd for the car's ride

I'm sure they do, Bilstein to name just one. But if you want to maintain the ride quality as MB designed it, then, IMHO, you have to go with MB.

You can always get adjustable shocks :D if you do not like your passenger then set the near side one to very hard ;)

I'd recommend an OE replacement, Sachs etc as NPUK. I had Bilstein B12s fitted aftermarket and the handling was incredible with the lowering springs, but so were the new found rattles the cabin got as the car was not designed around this suspension

I need some and thought MB at £96+ was over the top so I looked around and have come up with a lot of others to consider including Sachs KYB Bilstein Boge Monroe etc I just wondered if anyone else had tried an alternative.

I fitted Bilsteins to my S203, great improvement over the MB set-up but at £1200 it should have been!

If you are looking to keep the ride as standard, stick with MB.

My opinion is to stick with MB or Bilstein/Sachs as these are usually original. The others I'd steer clear of.

I think Sachs-Boge is all now under ZF so maybe the same.

Last year I fitted Sachs all round. Bought them from ECP on a discount code, Cannot complain.

I was tempted to go the Koni route, but did not want to go through the notifying the insurance of modification etc..
