Morning
Any help on this would be very helpful , my car which has done 90k miles went into Limp mode a few weeks back and I did all the normal checks but decided to get a star test done on it - it came up with several faults relating to the Turbo actuator being in the wrong position so I started looking into this problem.
When the problem occurs the car would be put into Limp mode and often if I turned the car off and restarted it would be ok again for a while - when it does go wrong the actuator arm would get stuck half way up and then not move freely until turn the ignition off and then with the ignition back on it would do its test and then would be fine.
I then purchased a turbo and actuator from ECP and replaced all of the gaskets and refitted the turbo and actuator - same problem car would go into limp mode and errors would point to actuator being in the wrong position. I therefore got the ECP turbo and actuator changed under warranty for another one - this one was ok for a week but then the same issue.
I have checked the EGR and that was relatively clean - certainly not clogged up
I replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor as I know these can cause problems but still the fault remains
I still have the same problem and I cant see that it can be another faulty turbo/actuator - help
