Thanks Paul, trouble is it feels like new car ownership and that just off the forecourt feeling of I hope i don't damage it, no doubt it will soon pass :)

The paintwork was really starting to bug me, it was starting to feel like a patchwork quilt, no matter how careful you are when touching up it is always a compromise. The guy who runs the bodyshop is an enthusiast so was happy to treat the areas known to be a problem so it doesn't come back.

Well here we are again 4.5 years later and looking at a bit more bodywork that needs attention. The offside front wing where it meets the bumper has come through and the decision this morning was to fit a replacement ECP wing which I'm told is a very good fit so fingers crossed

The offside rear wing, again just above the rear bumper at the back of the wheelarch is bubbling but this is an easy job so no metal required

Car is going in Monday next week, apart from that the bodywork seems to be holding up well for a 210 I'll add to the thread with pictures before and after for those interested

Both my front wings are in this state too. I think I can patch one but the other may be a bit far gone. Be interested to hear how you get on with the ECP wings - are they the premium ones?

Not sure LK but the body shop assured me they are fine and made by the same outfit that supplied MB, anyway I'll ask the question when it goes in. I thought we might be able to save the wing as the rest of the panel is A1 but I'm assured when it sees the grinder the section that hold the bumper will dissolve and I'm sure he's right

Great to see 210 being fettled / made good again I miss mine i'd like to find an old E430 estate to restore once i'm on top of the current fleet
Good Cars ......if you can keep on top of the corrosion spots The IL6's with a 722.6 Box = Bulletproof Combination, not much else that size can come close on MPG either

Took advantage of the good weather yesterday and washed the car ready for the bodyshop tomorrow.

I've taken photos of the corrosion on the offside front and rear wing and also the panel fit of the front wing so that I can post photos of the new ECP wing in place for comparison as I know there is a lot of interest in how well the ECP wing fits

Will update when I get the car back

Mine has an after market front wing. The fit to the door, as per photo 4, is rather poor.

Due to the pressed curvature and the construction of the panel, it's not really that tweak-able, in that plane / dimension.

It is very tweakable in that position, its just the guy who fitted it couldn't be arsed to do it.

It was me that fitted it.

Not so sure about that surely MB press their own at Sindelfingen, Bremen, Hamburg and Kecskemet etc.
