Can anyone recommend good Auto Gearbox specialists in/around/near to Northamptonshire please?

Our W220 has decided to loose drive, however the 722.6 gearbox will toque load well when stationary.

No noticeable clunks or clanks and it was working perfectly fine when driving before drive was pretty much suddenly lost. The car will only just 'creep' in Drive or Reverse. No fault messages on the dash.

TCU Codes:
P220A - Speed comparison of Y3/6n2 to Y3/6n3 is implausible.
P2203 - The internal electrical check of component Y3/6n3 (speed sensor 3) has failed.

TCU Codes which I assume have been caused by the above:
P2561/2560 - Gear implausible or transmission slipping (2/1 gear.)

ECU Codes:
2228-1 ETC Fault 11
2225-1 ETC Fault 8

The gearbox is on approx 240k and has had oil and filter changes, but is overdue another change co-incidentally.

Is anyone able to shed any light on the above codes and the problem? I am assuming/hoping it is an electrical issue. I am aware of the conductor plate failures common to these gearboxes, but the symptoms seems a little different.

Thanks!!!

Both the first two codes point to the conductor plate.

Any ideas how much this costs for a competent garage to repair? We would rather it be repaired than replace the gearbox, unless of course the gearbox is on its way out mechanically speaking...

The conductor plate on my CL500, inc fluid & filter was around £400 all in.

Its a relatively straightforward job, any competent mechanic could do.

Have you used them for work on your W220? What did they do? How much did they charge roughly do you know? Thanks!
No, not personally on my w220, but a friend had work done with them and they were very professional, workshop was clean and they seemed to know their stuff and come recommended by folks in thetrade for auto box stuf

The 'Competent Mechanic' bit is the issue here haha!! If we had a lift I would do it myself (like 60% of the jobs i want to do, require a lift!) however it looks like, as the gearbox is on 240k ish, we will let Midland take a look at it and also check out the condition of the clutches etc. - Now i need to persuade my dad to bother getting it trailer-ed from his home to Kettering!!

Haha yeah, most of the time I'm incompetent, but I'm very persistent and not afraid to have a go. You don't need to remove the gearbox, a couple of ramps on a driveway and an inspection lamp will do :) these gearboxes are designed do cope with 600+ BHP
its usually the conductor plate/solenoids that fail.

You can hire a lift by the day at a place in Weedon...
