Wow that was quick thanks. Is there 2 belts or just one at the front of the engine. It looks like there is 2 or does it run offset on 1 belt.

Thanks. The other belt i was looking at is the kompressor drive belt which sits in front of the auxiliary belt. As someone else pointed out. Cheers.

He doesn't have an M112... I'm pretty sure it's an early M271 (if not it's an M111).
I think you're right. I've watched the video and it looks like a different engine. Just trying to find a supplier for the kompressor drive belt. I've already got the auxiliary belt but can't seem to find the other one. Any suggestions. Thanks

My mistake. 2003 was the changeover year. I got it wrong.

^ Stick your registration in to ensure you are getting the correct model.
The W208 only went up to 2002 and your info says its a 2003.
That is what threw me with the engine earlier.:D

Yep. It says 2003 on log book. On 52 plate. No worries. Thanks for your help. May pop in to MB at Sheffield tomorrow and get a price.

Had to Order the Kompressor Drive belt from JCT 600 Mercedes at Sheffield. Not a pleasurable experience. Text me on Friday to let me know the part had arrived. Looked on website on Saturday to check parts department opening times which said 14:00. Got three at 12:55 to find the parts department door locked. Went into sales showroom and spoke to a lady who said she could not get the parts and would arrange for someone to call me on Monday to get my details and send the part recorded deliver. Nobody phoned, tried ringing parts department, couldn't get through. Rang them this morning and vented my frustration which ended up with 25% discount, the mention of MBO members forum seemed to help. Sorry for the rant but I thought other members should be made aware of the poor customer service. =-)

Not the first time I've heard about poor service from there....
I would always use MB of Newcastle or MB Grangemouth - they seem to get it right, give a good discount and ship it out for delivery in a day or two.

What LK said. I just bought my first parts from there, new wiper motor and trim plate. Cost was £113 total, delivered to my door and utterly reliable.

Thanks for your advice guys. It just seemed convenient using them as I work across the road from them. I'll try MB North East to compare quotes next time I need any parts and see what kind of service I get. Thanks again
