Hi ,
Just been for a drive out today ,boot soft close was working fine before we left .Parked the car up locked it ,came back to the car about 1hour later and could not open the boot, boot release inside the car would also not release the boot, also central locking will not pull down the door buttons .
Got home managed to open the boot with the key checked all fuses under rear storage box and bonnet non of them seem to be blown.
I can close the boot bit it will not latch down fully so the red indication of "close boot lid " comes on also roof will not open as it thinks boot is still open .I have also had the "close boot separator warning" even though it is closed .
Is it PSE time or is there some thing else that could be a miss.
Hopefully something simple :(

Managed to lock the boot fully with the key but the roof will still not operate message of "close boot separator " on dash even though it is closed.
Could it be the switch in the separator latch causing the problem?
Still no joy no central locking or soft close?
Any ideas anyone
Thanks

Sounds like your PSE pump has failed. Check under the boot floor for water - any boot leaks will eventually drown the pump.

I checked under boot floor ,also I have re done all window seals a while back and no leaks evident.
Can these be repaired or is it ££££s time.

There was someone posted the other day about getting theirs rebuilt for £450 or so.

If the system has a leak will this stop the pump working?

A leak could cause it. Normally you'll hear it hissing.

Ok ,checked again under the pump no water, disconnected the pump and reconnected, gave it a tap and I get a whirring noise for a second then nothing, no signs of any air leaks, the lumbar function also is not working so it looks like it is the pump.
Just to summarise
No Central locking
Boot soft close not working.
Lumbar on both seats not working.
Just before I go down the ££ option of a new pump,is there anything else that works of the PSE pump or is that it.
Thanks

I think (but can't swear to it) that the heater vents are also vacuum controlled (or is it just 129s?) Pretty importantly the fuel filler unlock also works from PSE.....

Given the list of items that don't work I would say it pretty conclusive.

If the pump makes any noise it is not likely to be it "in the conventional sense". If you try a few times it would pop the fuse - if it makes a noise, it hasn't. See if the petrol cap locks - if it does, then it isn't likely to be a "replacement" - need to keep digging.

Hi,
I can open the petrol flap just by pushing it in and it pops open, tried all fuses yesterday all ok.
Dont know where else to check.
I can't open the roof either warning saying "close boot separator" this is probably because of the soft close function not working.
Mercedes of Edinburgh have an E Bay shop selling pumps for £675 delivered with 2yr guarantee compared to £900 + at the main dealer parts counter.
Thanks

The only thing we don't know (and probably don't want to test) is whether the pump also locks the fuel filler cap - its possible its never locked it!

Yes not a good idea, just booked it in to the local indie seems to think the pump has a partial failure,

Does the petrol flap stay unlocked when the car is locked?
