Hi does anyone have any advice on lowering a W212 E220d, it has the AMG pack so I think it has already been lowered by 15mm. I was thinking of lowering it a bit more as I think it would look really good. I have been told it could be lowered another 10mm or 20mm. Has anyone done this? I am concerned I might have trouble with drives, potholes, kerbs, speed humps etc. If anyone has done this, or has any advice I would really appreciate it. Is it more hassle than it is worth?

Many thanks everyone

I had the W212 E300 Bluetec in AMG sports guise previously , in my opinion that was about as low as was sensible. The front dam especially was prone to catching over kerbs or speed bumps. I often cringed as a heard the scraping! For me I’d leave alone, let’s see what others say

Thanks very much John, that is what I thought, I would be really interested if anyone else also thinks going lower would be too much hassle

Not tried it on an MB but every other car I've lowered I've regretted it as the ride gets too harsh.

Thanks that was another concern, I just thought it would look the business with the body kit and lowered. If anyone has lowered one I would be interested in their advice. Maybe I will do it when it is much older and use as a track car

Personally for me I wouldn't bother, I've done this in the past with other cars, and whilst they look good, totally crap for our road, especially for me living in the country. I never had issues with scraping, but with the 40mm drop, the ride was horrible. Maybe I am showing my age, but I think the AMG stance is perfect.

I have a W212 with the AMG pack. I wouldn’t take it any lower. It’d look chavved up, silly AND hit every damn speed bump going.

It’s a no from me. These cars have classic styling. Don’t prole them up.

Also, the setup has been designed as a whole package, and also looks perfect, when you see some of these cars really low, the lose that design and it looks crap, with back breaking ride.

I would, or you'll be making the acquaintance of every speedbump on our roads.
