Have you ever done it? And if not, then why not?

It's not for me. My Buddy has just bought himself a 62 Vauxhall Cresta. He asked me if I would like to to have a drive of it. I hadn't gone very far down the road before I realised how horrible it was. That put me off for ever. They say they don't build cars like they used to ? thank Christ they don't !!

Not advertising on your first post are you?:) Seriously there used to be quite a lot of sharpish practice around in that game ie billing you after the hire for pre existing damage/ problems and other stuff. I'm sure there are honest renters around but I wouldn't do it.

Not at all. I'm thinking of trying it myself, but want to know the pros and cons :)

Why would I want to hire one when I already have an old(ish) Mercedes?

Because I own some old cars and have owned many old classics in my time, so there's nothing like a modern :D Mind you the Rolls and Bentley's were nice enough :)
Most younger people would not know how to drive an old car especially the pre-selector gearbox and if your lucky enough an old race car that required two drivers to drive ;)
I've worked on cars like the Triumph 2000's, Rover's etc when they were new, if the car manufactures still built them like the old days all the car companies would be bust and we would be walking o_O

What do expect. It’s 56 years old, I love driving my 1960 Ponton.
