problem with cold start! W211 320 CDI

For almost a month I am having a problem with the cold start of the engine of my W211 320 CDI. When the car is cold in the morning, the engine must turn about 10 times before it starts. In the past, this was not the case. There is no message / light on the dashboard. As well there is no smoke when it starts. Let the car tested by STAR but the report didn't show anything wrong!

Any advice will be appreciated.

Could be the glow plug relay ? I had similar symptoms with my E320cdi . You always have to be careful with throwing money into guesswork . The relay is about £100.
Does the glow plug light come on and go off when the car starts ?

Yes, the glow plug light come on and go off when the car starts! As well, the STAR Diagnostic couldn't find anything wrong!

Is this V or inline engine? Inline engine starts better without glow plugs...

Did you check injector correction values when plugged in star? If value is over +3 it might show faulty one... Did you check live data, how was rail pressure rising during cranking? Like said many times car does not trigger fault code if pressure is just too low during cranking.

Now you can measure injector back leak... I'm 80% sure you found culprit there... LOL

if it has full power when hot and starts quickly and drives well when fully warmed up... its VERY likely the glow plugs and or the control module (called a relay but is more than just a relay) glow plus are a service item (every 60 k or so) the "relays" go wrong at 7 to 10 years on every car

My S class had the same problem a few years ago, used Easy Start no problem, my indy said at the time it was a leaky injector and sure enough when they were tested two faulty ones were found, no problems since.

The Problem is solved!

Wighty is right! It was the the glow plug relay. I asked the engineer why STAR didn't show this in the first test? His answer was because at that time the relay was not completely demage but on the second test was.
