I have a 2008 SLK 280. I have the Mercedes adaptor installed in my car. When I first had it, the ringing sound used to come through the radio speakers loud and clear. A few Months ago, it stopped. The iPhone rings and the sound is barely audible through the speakers - if driving impossible to hear anything. I can still answer the call from the steering wheel but do not hear the announcement. I have been to Mercedes and they do not know why. Any ideas please.

pair up a different "normal phone" (not a faulty apple) and see where that gets you?

as I wrote elsewhere, apple believe that software, rules, regs, protocols and standards that everyone else knows to be the best way forward are not compatible with their "better" way of working. BT is always an issue for them, to resolve other faults they may have broken other features u need. this is likely compounded when u say you are using a merc adaptor. As they have around 20 out there all slightly unusual and mildly faulty, when you match that with apple phones you need divine intervention to get them to behave reliably

Mercedes say they sold around 350 last Year. So you think the adaptor may be at fault.

I think apple are likely at fault and Mercedes have the same slant towards doing things their way not the right way
simplest idea is to clear both car and phone and re pair... best idea is to try a non apple phone and see what happens

Eventually, I bought the latest model Puck and now it seems to be working fine.
