Both my CLK & C250 will show an average in the 30's if used around town most of the time. When dual c/ways & m/ways are used more frequently the average will move into the 40's. If constantly on m/ways, like a trip to the south of France, the average will be in the 50's.

Mine is C180 petrol and on a recent 230 miles trip it returned an average of 39.7mpg, about half of it was on motorway's. I wasn't pussy footing it although I do stick to the speed limits generally. Not too unhappy with thatAs the title suggests what is the MPG on your c class. I am no Lewis Hamilton type but getting an average MPG of 38.6 combined on a c220d.
Is that normal!!
Ya not bad for a petrol.Mine is C180 petrol and on a recent 230 miles trip it returned an average of 39.7mpg, about half of it was on motorway's. I wasn't pussy footing it although I do stick to the speed limits generally. Not too unhappy with that
My CLK220 does about 39mpg but on long runs about 44mpg, if I keep to 55 to 60 I can get over 50mpg.
No you don’t. It does very little on mpg but it does knacker out the timing chains on the smaller engines...So I think me getting similar to yours is normal. I wish Mercedes have done Start/Stop in earlier models!!
Mine is a start/stop but I don't use itSo I think me getting similar to yours is normal. I wish Mercedes have done Start/Stop in earlier models!!
I am getting very similar on my c220 but on motorways it will be around 44 most.
At what speed and over what distance?
I do a regular long motorway journey from the NW to the SE but there's a 23 mile mixed A road run to get to the motorway from home. I reckon on a cold day it takes pretty well that 23 miles for the car to be thoroughly warmed up and when I get to the motorway it'll be showing high 30's MPG. If I take it easy - steady 70-75 - the MPG will slowly increase and it'll max out around the mid-50's.
Coming home I tend to drive a little quicker where possible although the traffic is often busier. I'll see mid 40's then, and that's with the return journey being almost straight onto the motorway. I reckon the trip computer over-reads by about 2MPG.
I find any spell of "press-on" driving absolutely murders the MPG - you really have got to back off and almost let the car drive itself if you want the highest MPG.
I drive about 25 miles from home to work everyday and it's all motorway mileage. Also I am very gentle with the gas. Usually do about 60-65 mph and getting an average reading of 44mpg on the trip.
