Hi Folks.

Just purchased a rather tasty 2004 c class T model 2.2CDI with full years mot. The only fault seems to be the drivers side rear which I assume is a weak shock absorber. Has anyone replaced theirs recently and what did you use? I can get a new pair of Monroe Reflex for about £75 delivered, (which will be quite a bit less than genuine Merc parts I would think) but would welcome any comments.

Cheers.

Bumpy ride/rumble/knock on uneven roads on nearside rear. Haven't had a chance yet to check if it's spring or shock but thought I would get recommendations first. Should add that i'm surprised it went through mot with this as the centres here are Government run with state of the art test equiptment and are s... hot at the moment on rear shocks.

I seem to recall he mentioned it on an earlier post
All of Northern Ireland. There are no 'independants' here, mores the pity.

Springs are fine but nearside rear shock confirmed as not very well, so two replacements ordered. Two Monroe Reflex for £70.06 ebay, (acepartsuk) delivered to Belfast has to be a good buy don't you think?

OOPS!!!!

Received an email at 16.05 to say the items had been dispatched. Received another at 17.22 to say sorry, they are out of stock and refund sent! Appears they order through a third party hence the conflicting messages, but it turned out to be a real result as I had ordered the wrong shock absorbers. Turns out that mine are the sports type which I have sourced through Motoglass locally. They contacted Monroe direct who checked my car details out thoroughly to ensure the correct fitment and informed me that it was a sports set up. A result for once.
