One of the funniest sayings I heard whilst in Oz last year was "drain the potatoes" - going for a pee:D

Lol, Similar to one of my favourites "Taking the kids to the pool" aka going for a sh1t.
Also, my mate Tinkers wife had gone to "shake the lettuce" PMSL

Hi, I have just joined this forum. Please excuse my ignorance, but how do I ask a specific question on the forum?

However one that has escaped me is OTB in sale adverts - is it “on the button” as in ‘perfect’ ?

It's written 'see you next Tuesday' as the way you have written it gives the PC brigade ammunition to make a complaint to Human Remains :shock:

I did a project oooop north where I only did 3 days per week, starting on a Tuesday. On a Thursday as I left site I would always say to a smart arse Project Manager 'see you next Tuesday' each and every week for 37 weeks, much to the mirth of another older guy in the office who cracked up with the youngster never getting it in all that time.

The older guy took a holiday to India, where upon return he was called the 'cha wallah' when a cuppa was required. Again the youngsters never understood the joshing. Whispering 'grass' was often missed too

TANSTAAFL for me too, thanks to Dr. Heinlein.

JFDI was used in official correspondence at my last employers.

As in "Stranger in a Strange Land, Friday" amongst others, Robert Heinlein? If so me too, I've read just about everything he's ever had printed.
