Dealing with a R129 which had a broken roof ECU after jump starting when car was in storage, the ECU returned from being repaired but I cant get the hardtop off as it doesn't pop up form the rear passenger side and the manual release level I believe is the part in my hand and that I found lying snapped too, so what to do now? anyone knows which connectors to jump to maybe get the pump to force the latch or how I can do so with some tools? the 10mm thin spanner tool that came with it seem to be of no use in such a situation 42831976_323190461821938_7943117168671981568_n.jpg 42885071_162631981330828_1234240684517490688_n.jpg 42749192_357970638275817_1186472401848762368_n.jpg 42812049_500370650478964_2913314889978085376_n.jpg

The part you're holding is the manual release lever. Normally the special 10mm spanner fits on that to release the latch.
From the look of the pictures it's come off it's post so putting it back on the bronze bush in picture 2 should allow the latch to be released. You'll probably need a circlip to hold it in place.

thank you so much, it really helped, found a correct sized circlip and managed to release it, though I think I might need a new pin as it seems bent so that no problems in future, but thanks so much again!

Probably wise to replace the entire latch. It looks to have had a little bit of a hard life!
