Hi All,

The merc has got its first service with Mercedes - only £350 odd but do i question them about any software upgrades or anything?

Thanks

They should do that as part of the service buddy . But it would never hurt to mention it when you drop it off if it's going to bother you

I know i know, but what can i do eh? When you go to sell 'Main dealer service history' is a big positive

Putting 2 new tyres on the front before it goes in, cant imagine how much they would charge! £402 for 2 front conti's (run flats) fitted - 225 40 r19 v xl :(

You would be surprised.

They quoted me less than any other tyre shop locally when mine went in - I refused as was at 2.2mm - A few months later it cost me an extra £25 a corner to get them done more local to me.

I'd most likely service it with Mercedes, they will do any software upgrades whilst they have it, I had loads on mine including lots of technical updates as it was a new model at the time.

Even more of a bargain on air filters when they appear on the invoice, but upon checking the "new" filters, they appear decidedly "old"...!

At which point you have them over a barrel - Why not penetrate?

Cos they never had the courtesy to reply! (I was already in "discussion" with them about something else. Funnily enough, that was the last time they touched my car!

I agree, people who don't really know cars will always appreciate main dealer servicing. I did when I bought mine. I've learned a lot from this forum and now take all the 'recommended work' to MBS in Southampton but by having the basic service done with the main dealer, I preserve mobilo cover. Probably a bit expensive but I'm keeping a foot in each camp.
