Hi been absent from these forums for about 10 years lol so new to Mercedes again.( only previous merc was a works vito van that was terrible)
Have never really thought about Mercedes as a contender in this period but on a whim I decided to down trade if you, like my q7 for a rather tasty little c200 Manual , cdi amg sport+ bluefficiency number .
I say down trade as in running cost/size/etc... but c class is 5 years younger and 45k miles less, plus cash their way ( not a lot)
Anyway I think it looks nice ( 2012 w204) but I never had high hopes in regards to the rear wheel drive of the c class in the wet or the meagre c200 power output but im actually quite happy with the way it drives and goes, and regardless of what people were telling me about the bland interior of the merc the amg package is quite modern and has the little touches.
Anyway good first impressions and think the engine is a tad noisy ( maybey I was spoiled by the lovely smooth CASA engine tuned to 300bhp) but sweet on the faster roads.
I had provisionally enquired about remaps before I took receipt of vehicle but don't think ill need to bother … interestingly enough if you look at superchips web look at my discrepancy and findings that superchips claim my engine type is usually outputting a lot more than claimed.

other small things ive found out are the intermittently 1st gear clutch( or wheel spin ) judder usually from cold that seems to be a common issue ive read about on these forums and folk advise to start off from 2nd gear?
think ive got the single turbo om651 with solenoid injectors and the Delphi crd 3.10ecu so think this setup is a lot more reliable than the piezo type on the higher tuned versions.
Also seeing timing chain worries posted about these engines but like anything use the best and correct engine oil and service on time and hope to get a good bit of mileage from things like this?
