My old car on Autotrader - 2010 E Coupe E350CDI, 67,000

I have been keeping on eye on Autorader and my old E Coupe, which I traded in in October, has now appeared for sale.

Just thought I’d mention it in case anyone in the West Country is looking for something like this. Naturally, I can thoroughly recommend the car and I still have all the original service invoices if anyone is interested.

Also, although it doesn’t say so on the ad, it has the Navigation 20 retrofit (done by Comand at Lightwater) and it is actually a 6CD Changer, not single CD.

Good question, something I was going to ask.
Also does it look like the dealer has done much to it ?
Did it need any bits of tidying etc ? .

Mercedes Southampton gave me £7350 (WBAC quoted £6600). I was happy with that because it all happened in a week or so and I didn’t really fancy trying to sell a car round Christmas (AT suggested up to £9k for a private sale).

It looks as though they have tidied up some corrosion on the wheels and there was some damage on the front left wing which has gone (presumably Chips Away or the like).

The MOT and service were due in February and I would usually have tried to do both before attempting a private sale. They say it has a new MOT and service but it doesn’t! The MOT still expires in February 2019 and the “service” is just an oil change which they have done themselves (so that breaks the MB Service record!). It did have “the works” done by Cole at MBS earlier this year so it didn’t need much more than an oil change.

I’ll watch the ad to see whether they have to reduce it - seems a bit high to me!

Just an update as I've been keeping an eye in this. Three months in and the car is still up for sale although it was reduced by £200 to £9750 a while back. The MOT has now expired and has not, so far been renewed. It’s clearly well overpriced and I’m glad I didn’t try and sell it privately!

The trade in price isn’t that relevant, it’s the price to change that’s important. I’ve zero interest in what they’ll give me for mine it’s only the cost to change I’m interested in.

I know dealers don’t like that, they like 2 deals so they can beat you down on yours (because no one wants them and they’re doing you a favour etc etc) and they (because they like you) will kindly allow you to buy their most desirable and sort after car for the asking price.
