I was told by the previous owner that my R170 was remapped , I was wondering how I could prove this , it certainly is a peppy lil unit , could I use MB11 on live data and check the boost levels ?

Boost levels would be the same on those, unless the pulley has been changed so no way to tell that way.

Nothing straight forward that I can imagine to check

Empty garage, awaiting new toy :)
Download the ECU data then compare it with a stock file.
With
MPPS
and
FlexHEX
Or
Send me the downloaded file and I can see if its been remapped for you :)

I can vouch for the 230 kompressor being a lively engine. I've driven one other SLK with this unit, other than my own, and there's no doubt that these cars move along very nicely indeed.
Regarding the original question, all I can think of is perhaps arranging to drive a known unmodified car and seeing how that compares. Not very scientific i know but the op wanted a simple way I think.

Mmmmm, I can see a 'street meet' plan in the future for testing modified and unmodified................

Well some computer literate bods might find changing a wheel more challenging than pulling the ECU data .

Horses for courses and all that stuff :)

Comparing cars in a like for like drag race is a bit Neanderthal when the ECU data can be simply checked,
definitely more fun but......................

Our bench wouldn't be long enough to test accelerate the cars, look what happened to the Doc on 'back to the future' car ran off bench, across floor and started a fire............okay I'm leaving
