New series starts tonight taking classic cars along classic roads. Not much detail so difficult to know whether it is any good but may be worth a look.

Thanks for heads up on that Steve, have set it up to record. Sounds right up my street if you will excuse the pun (Groan emoji)

Damn missed this post.. have to check catch up stuff to try to get it, sounds interesting.
Used to be something similar many years ago with celebs iirc
I remember Robbie Coltrane in a herald convertible - it was shall we say a challenge !

Like Andy, I had to record it so haven’t watched it yet. SWMBO said “The Voice” was more interesting!

Apparently ‘the voice’ is always more interesting Steve!

I watched this last night though, as it seems lots of you guys haven't, I'll try not to put any spoilers in.

I'll start by saying that I really enjoyed it. Admittedly the two presenters are not exactly car nuts, though they did have a natural chemistry about them and what seemed to be an easy going relationship. It wasn't so much about cars though, more the journey they went on that just happened to be an interesting road trip with some absolutely breathtaking scenery and a lot of "challenging" roads.

I'd certainly recommend it for an easy viewing experience and, hopefully, will keep up with the series. Next week is at the opposite end of the country apparently, down by Lands End.

Incidentally, the combined age of the two presenter is an impressive 145 years, with Timothy being 78 and Davison 67.

There's hope for me yet...

I watched and enjoyed it mostly, I’ve driven those roads and my father drove them in the early 50’s in a Fordson E83W 10cwt van with 35 mph top speed and a pint of oil every 500 miles. His photographs tie in nicely with the program.

Sadly I only caught the last half - but enjoyed it all the same! (Reminded me of that Talking Heads song).

Be interesting to see next weeks as I've been there! (Never been to Scotland).

But hey, didn't England give those troublesome Irish a good drubbing yesterday!!!

It was pretty good but as mentioned more about the journey and the comparison of roads then and now.
The roll on ferry was amusing ;)

I`ve just seen it now and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Many thanks to SRDL.

We often go up to Cromarty on the Black Isle for a holiday and have driven from Fort George to Ullapool and along part of the NW500. I look forward to next week`s episode.

It reminded me of Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan`s Italian road trip.

I was a little disappointed in their choice of car. I think it would have been better in something period, not a modern version of something period.

I enjoyed the show and I thought the choice of car was ok. Definitely one to have on series record IMO.

I wonder how much they actually drove the car. When Robbie Coltrane went round in the E-Type that was low loaded everywhere and he drove it the last 100yds to wherever he was filming.

That’s not the problem - it’s about who gets control of the Lounge with the comfy seats and 50in HDTV!
I just go in the other room with the 40" HDTV instead (or in the cinema room - aka converted single garage - and use the projector) :)

Sadly I think there are only three episodes ☹️
